Describe the operation
Explain what the system should do, what it currently does and when the behavior changed. Share equipment model numbers, diagrams and manufacturer information already available to you. Avoid making control changes simply to demonstrate a fault.
Agree on the boundaries
A control issue may involve electrical equipment, sensors, software, mechanical systems or a third-party supplier. The first discussion identifies the equipment and the proposed diagnostic scope. Specialized projects may require coordination beyond a two-person electrical team.
Plan the work window
Discuss process interruptions, access authorization and the person responsible for operating the equipment. Share any site-specific requirements before a visit. Scheduling and deliverables are confirmed after the scope is understood.
